A little bit about  where Blue Heron Fine Gifts came from….

As a child I spent my summers with an extraordinary woman   in a house nestled on the banks of the Edisto River.  This wonderful woman was my great aunt who we all called Mammy Jean.  It was during these summers she showed me a great love and appreciation for nature and art. She encouraged my artistic expression, gently reminding me I was only limited by my own imagination.

Floating down the river on one of those summer days, she pointed out a beautiful Great Blue Heron and she told me “When I die I will come back as a Great Blue Heron the most magnificent of birds”. Mammy Jean has been gone for many years, but every Blue Heron brings a smile to my face.
